This chapter discusses three devices that are widely used to measure dose in the clinical setting: diodes (Section 17.1), luminescent dosimeters (Section 17.2), and film (Section 17.3). These devices offer many attractive features, such as immediate readout (diodes) or high spatial resolution (film), but they also have limitations that are important to be aware of.
