Welcome
Sustainable Management: A Complete Guide for Faculty and Students is both a textbook for students, as well as a teaching guide for educators. With a full introduction to sustainable management, the book covers a wide range of subject areas relevant to business and management students. It enables faculty to incorporate sustainability and climate solutions into their modules, and is also very accessible for self-directed studies.
A note from the Editor:
Welcome to our third edition!
We are excited to share our new material with you to help you on your sustainability journey!
This book - ‘Sustainable Management. A Complete Guide for Faculty and Students’ – is useful for students, instructors and anyone else who wants to gain an overview of some key sustainability topics in different business disciplines and functions including corporate strategy, economics, human resources, operations, marketing and more. In the third edition we have focused again on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how to teach them effectively in business and management schools. And we have added a special focus on SDG 13 Climate Action in light of the urgency of the climate and ecological emergency!
We hope you will find our book to be a useful textbook, as well as a treasure chest of ideas for instructors who want to design engaging sessions! You will find fully developed seminars for many of the core disciplines as well as key topics such as greenhouse gas management, corporate peacemaking and employability! As the instructor all you need to do is read the seminar instructions, make any small tweaks for your own students and context and then you can go and deliver it!
You will also find additional teaching ideas such as videos and role plays to make your lessons more exciting and ideas for designing bigger units or even developing a strategy for your own business school!
If you are a student, you could read the matching chapters, for example the marketing chapter. In there you will find some exercises to do outside of class on your own or with fellow learners to expand your learning or maybe you could suggest to your Professor that they include some of the material in class!
In this companion website you will find even more material. We have included for example some of the templates you might have seen in the book so that you can easily download and complete them. You will also find some brand new resources which do not feature in the book itself, so please do take some time to explore the folders.
We would love to hear from you about any of the different ways you used the book or website materials. With your permission we can even add to the folders any teaching resources you have created yourself on themes relating to the book as additional materials. We hope that you and your students will enjoy using the book and we look forward to your feedback!
