About the Author

John Blewitt studied Politics, History and Sociology at the University of Aberystwyth; Film and Television at the Polytechnic of Central London; and Education at the Universities of Greenwich and Huddersfield. He has extensive experience of Adult, Further, International and Higher Education and has worked at the Universities of Huddersfield, Bradford and Exeter. He is presently Co-Director of the MSc Social Responsibility and Sustainability at Aston University, UK, where he leads the online distance learning version of the course. He teaches modules on Communications and Sustainability, Sustainability and Technology and Research Methods. His main research interests focus on the nature and future of work in a sustainable degrowth society. He is a Distinguished Schumacher Fellow, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Among his many publications are: The Ecology of Learning (Earthscan, 2006), Media, Ecology and Conservation(Green Books, 2010), Searching for Resilience in Sustainable Development (Routledge–Earthscan, 2013 – with Daniella Tilbury) and Sustainable Business (Routledge–Earthscan, 2014 – with Helen Kopnina). He also edited the four-volume anthology Sustainable Development in Routledge’s Major Concepts series (2013).
